About itu’

Born and raised in Japan. A star athlete in school. He then went on to work as a business consultant and wrote a book in his twenties. The book became a bestseller in Japan, and was translated and released in other parts of Asia.

In 2014, he visited Paris and was inspired to start working on his creativity. Soon after, he made Paris his base and started his career as an artist. Images and ideas kept flowing like magma from a volcano, and he decided to open a directly-managed store in Le Marais so that he could show his works directly to customers. Rather than selling through boutiques or galleries, all of itu’’s works are shown and sold through the store.

itu’ brings to life never-before-seen objects and familiar-yet-strange objects through free-form thinking. Le Pret art porter, a series that uses fashion items like canvases, and Le voyage, which features painted luxury vintage bags, are examples of this.

itu’ is self-taught both in the areas of management and operation, as well as art and design. He doesn’t work through agents or a business partners but works with his close team. He personally runs the art production, store management, store designs and even material manufacturing. In terms of publicity, itu’ has been featured on France Télévisions and BBC Russia, and has worked on an installation project with Andaz Tokyo, which is a Hyatt Group luxury hotel.

“Opening up your life to infinite possibilities through objects”

Objects have power. Especially objects that you wear. These refer to clothes, shoes, and accessories that you carry around.

The human body carries immense energy in organs such as the brain and the heart, yet we aren’t always able to release it all. To fully release all of that energy in our brain and soul, we need external stimulation. This can be in the form of conversations with friends, communicating with family members, or work-related matters. Sometimes this stimulation comes from objects. In the 21st century, we are inundated with things all around us. I believe that the energy contained within those objects has a profound impact on our lives. itu’ creates, sells, and delivers objects to customers in order to open up their lives to infinite possibilities, through the energy contained in each object. Adorning clothes, shoes, and portable items, one brushstroke at a time. itu’ does this partly to create amazingly designed objects, but more so to infuse them with energy through each brushstroke. Every day, your mood is uplifted as you put each foot in the sneakers. As you pick up your usual bag, your brain is stimulated. And when somebody says to you “those sneakers look great” as you walk down the same old road, your heart leaps for joy. This is the kind of world that itu’ aims to create through his objects.

Three Worlds

itu’ largely consists of three worlds.

Here are explanations about each world.

1. Le Prêt art porter

First, itu’ designs various fashion items like pieces of clothing, shoes and bags from scratch. Then, they are each decorated with paint. The items are designed with delicacy, and painted with passion and soul.

The aim is not to make things that are simply cool or look great. The goal is to create a positive vessel of energy that will infuse your daily life with miracles.

2. Le voyage

A series that breathes new life into used vintage items.

This series consists of vintage luxury brand items (Louis Vuitton, Celine, Yves Saint Laurent etc.) in mint condition found at auctions or flea markets, which are used to create one-of-a-kind art pieces. Enjoy the look and atmosphere of the quality vintage items as they transcend time and are reincarnated with new energy. The series is called Le voyage to reflect itu’’s hope that they will become catalysts that will make your life – a grand voyage through time – even more beautiful.

3. L’art

itu’ also produces paintings, and works meticulously on each one. All of the energy that’s brewing inside itu’’s body is unleashed onto each canvas. Unlike clothes and shoes, these canvases are eternally still. As itu’ paints them, he imagines how the artwork he is creating will continue to dance on the canvas until the day the world end

itu’’s main store is in Le Marais, Paris. His studio is in the fifth arrondissement where you can see the River Seine from the window.

Born and raised in Japan, itu’ came to Paris in June 2014 after a friend casually suggested it. As if he heard a voice from above, he quickly decided to make Paris his base and opened a store on Rue de Turenne in Le Marais in October of the same year.

As itu’ puts it, “Paris is like a goddess, or a mother. It feels as though it is enveloped in magnificent love. I’m happy that I can call Paris my base, and I hope to create and do things that are only possible here, in a city that the whole world is infatuated with.”
